I've received a formal job offer from a company in Vancouver Canada, with a starting date of April 1st.
I've known this was coming, and I started this blog to keep people updated on how I go. I won't mention the name of the Company or the people I work with, so this blog tied can't be tied to them.
For now it's head-down-bum-up to get some existing work out of the way, and get as much of my PhD done as I can before I reach Vancouver. Then I finish my PhD while I work, and start a whole new life.
Kinda scary.

So our Peter's off to 'Couver
And for a change, will earn some pay,
We're so very pleased for him,
Plus WE'll have a place to stay
Those years and years of uni
Have made our bank quite low
So some nice free accomodation
Really sounds the way to go
Now he might like to ride a bike
But we feel he'll need a car
Just so that his old Mum & Dad
Can see the sights of Canada
He might be quite a Linuz whiz
On constraints and other stuff
But when it comes to beer and wine
We just hope he buys enough
And Canada's a long long way to go
Mountains, trees and all that slush
We promise not to stay too long
Several months, no need to rush
We'll even bring some Vegemite
At least a half a dozen jars
That should spread some homely smells
And attract some girls from bars
But its vital that he rents a cosy place
Not some cheap and tacky bed-sit
Cos there's heaps of other rellies
That are lined up for a visit
Now whether hes a tiny shrimp
Or a large and tasty fish
It really will not trouble us
Cheap Hol's! What more to wish
But at the end of all of this
We just wish him all the best
We're just so full of pride
He's Oz. He's up to any test.
wow.
