We saw the pandas in Chongqing, China last year. They were adorable, all the more so because they are an endangered species. A lot of us couldn't decide whether we wanted to take a panda home or one of the chinese pre-school children who practised their english with us. I might add the children were a lot better at english than we were with chinese. Just shows that we are suckers for the young of any species.
Not sure why I find them inspiring. Perhaps because they're inquisitive and unafraid. Perhaps because they defy the odds. Those are all traits you need to get through a thesis. :)

What do you mean by "inspiration", and in what context with reference to the 18 baby bears?
