Well, we're (virtually) committed now. We're placing a hold on a lot in Griesbach, and then organising our down payment. You could try and look us up in Google Maps but you won't even find our street because it hasn't been built yet. :)
We've been working on the design a fair bit, and the builder says it looks pretty good. It has been tricky to balance our needs while taking advantage of the lot shape, but we think we've succeeded. Our new home will look something like this video.

Just a couple of comments re regrets we have had about decisions made when we built our house.
The house plan did not have a porch/cover over the front door and we did not think of it. This has always been a problem eg in rainy weather. Someone comes to the door and there is no shelter.
When we chose our colour scheme for the kitchen and bathrooms we went with what was fashionable in 1980/1981. They dated badly. Uncle John,who does kitchens, can tell the age of a house by the colour of the kitchen. If I was doing it all again I would go for neutral colours like Danielle and Brian have for their new home. I really like their colour schemes. You can then add any colours in less expensive decorator items which can be changed easily.
