Squirrels!

Got a surprise walking home from shopping - a little black squirrel. I stood about 2 metres away while he peeled a nut and then hopped away. The freaky thing is seeing that they really do "undulate" while they run. It's like watching a sine wave in motion.

Yeah, I know what you mean by "undulate" like a wave. I saw a squirrel in a park in London. The way its body and tail flows as it scurried around, and the shine on its coat brought out the whole wave flowing motion. Your blogs are my little overseas "escapes" to Canada.

Hehe, yeah. Closest we have in Australia is a kangaroo moving in a parabola arc. But nothing like a squirrel. Wombats are just straight line beasts. :)

Speaking of wildlife, I haven't seen a spider here yet. Or a fly, or a mosquito. I keep waiting for a 'friendly' huntsman to crawl out from somwhere.

You do know that Vancouver is mosquito free right? That's why you don't (well most people don't) have screens on their windows...

Ah, no, didn't know that. That'll be handy for the evenings around Stanley Park. :)
