Vancouver is Dark City

I've just gotten out of bed, had a shower, its 7.30am, and it's dark. Really dark. It's like "there will be no dawn for men" dark.

In the winter, Vancouver is a combination of snow, rain, thick horizon-spanning clouds, late sunrise and early sunset. To make it worse, we just came back from DisneyWorld in Florida where it was 20+ and sunny every day. I'm half-tempted to print some vacation photos and post them over my windows... ;)

We are waiting to have a shower to cool off and then go to bed. Its 7.30pm, and it's still light. Light and sticky hot. The day was 40C. The dawn will come early after another listless night.

In the summer, Muswellbrook is a combination of hot, hot wind. Burning sun and blinding glare. Clouds are a blessed relief for the shade but overnight they lock the heat in for an even hotter next day. Early sunrise and late sunset.

We look at vacation photos of Canada to remember how nice cool is... ;
